Carlton -- Finally, a real home?

Carlton is back at the shelter looking for his forever indoor home. Carlton (used to be Oreo) originally came to us in Jan 2022 and prior to that had been living as a stray until he was found by a kind Samaritan in early 2021. He was fostered in Aug 2022, but after his health took a turn, the foster was unable to manage his condition. He was fostered again in Nov 2024 but returned in January 2026 due to a relationship split.
Carlton is a sweet, independent boy. He has anxiety and can get himself quite stressed and worked up in a busy home, which in the past has resulted in stress cystitis and bladder stones that required surgical intervention. Once he is relaxed and comfortable with you, he is a lovely boy who enjoys pats and playing with toys.
Carlton is FIV positive and must be kept as an indoor-only pet. Carlton will be happiest with humans who are gentle and patient, as he needs time to trust you, as well as a home with stability. He should be the only pet and isn't suited to a home with children or a busy lifestyle.
Carlton is a medical foster under our 'Care for Life' program - no fee.
